Shanghee Shin is an illustrator currently based in Washington State. She graduated from ArtCenter College of Design in 2011. She grew up in Busan, South Korea. Her influences include Hayao Miyazaki as well as her own mother who is an accomplished painter. Fine pen, acrylic ink and watercolor are her favorite tools. She also passionately recreates three-dimensional works with various materials based on her fine arts.
Each one of Shanghee's pen and ink drawings divulges a new part of the Animamaly kingdom, a world created by her where animals take on human-like roles in the most entertaining fashion.
Some of the artist's clients include Microsoft, Re-Marks, Vegas Seven Magazine, Lenovo, Cricket Media, Inside Housing, Capstone, Ludens and The National Institute of the Korean Language. Alternatively, her artwork-products have been featured in Barnes & Noble stores in the form of fantastical coloring bookmarks and puzzles.
