Artist Statement:
“Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not.”-Emerson
“This tiny and huge world has me addicted to its game of hide-and-seek with beauty. I want to find beauty crawling on the ground and catch it in a bottle, or put in my pocket to give to the first stranger that my wandering feet find.
This is how I share beauty with the world, through the wild mess of true feeling. And so, I make a mess of my wood, throwing, dripping, splashing, layering, rendering, drawing, crocheting, printing, and applying until I find the line between confusion and composition. This is the line on which femininity grabs its power and shouts. On this line is where my paintings have found existence. I partake in the spiritual practice of emptying. The wood on which I paint holds my longing self, offered to be viewed by others in hopes that they also may find healing and beauty through the hope in God, the Mother and Father Creator.”
