Artist Statement:
“In my work I seek to explore the idea of nonobjective realism and aim to convey a sense of emotion equal to that caused by encountering representational work. I am interested in creating unrecognizable, textural forms that imitate reality to an extent but still remain ambiguous. Without knowing exactly what is present, there is a unique exploration and individual discovery into each work because of the indefiniteness of the subject. I aim to create a kind of unsettling sublime feeling through the unknown along with sense of comfort through the familiar. Rather than focusing on a narrative, I introduce an atmosphere that presents an impression and extension of real space that provides the viewer an intimate place for reflection.”
